Judge's Gavel and RobeLAW DAYS
Law days are when the court hears motions, accepts pleas, enters judgments and sets cases for trial.
Law Days are subject to change if directed by the Court.

 

 

 

Division I – Honorable Jon E. Beetem
Civil
Second and fourth Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
Criminal
Second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
Probate
Second and Fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
Juvenile
Second and Fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m.
Detention hearings are held the Second and Fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Small Claims
All small claims tried on the return date except for good cause shown. The docket shall commence at
1:00 p.m. on the Second and Fourth Monday of each month.

Please note there are some exceptions and special settings.

Division II – Honorable Richard G. Callahan
Civil
Second and fourth Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
Criminal
Second and fourth Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Division III – Honorable Thomas L. Sodergren
Civil
Every Monday at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Friday at 1:30 p.m. for bench trials.
Criminal
Every Tuesday and Friday at 9:00 a.m. with the exception of infractions, which are handled at the conclusion of the 9:00 a.m. docket.
Felony preliminary hearings are held each Monday at 1:30 p.m., except when that day falls on a holiday then it goes to the following Wednesday.
Misdemeanor bench trials are held Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
All jury trials will be set on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. unless the Wednesday immediately follows a Monday holiday.

Division IV – Honorable Patricia S. Joyce, Presiding Judge
Civil
First and Third Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m.
Criminal
First and Third Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m.
Adult Drug Court
Every Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Other
Adult Abuse/Child Protection and uncontested dissolution hearings will be posted in the circuit Clerk's Office, Room 305.
Weddings in Cole County are held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Please call ahead to schedule your wedding date at 573-659-2300.
